Since we’ve all been spending more time than usual at home, I thought I'd put together a list of super simple DIY's that will not only spruce up your space, but will also give you something fun to work on.
Pictures of you
Reinvent any space with a super trendy gallery wall.
What you need:
Cardboard
Nails
Hammer
Framed Images
Directions:
Layout the frames on the floor so that you have a clear indication of how you'd like them to look on the wall - make sure you take a photograph for reference Then you should mark off the points where you'd like to hang the nails on the wall in pencil. After which you can hammer in the nails and hang your images.
Dress up
Make your plain pine dresser look expensive with a fresh coat of paint.
What you need:
Enamel Paint
Sandpaper
Paintbrushes
Directions
Prepare your piece of furniture by sanding it down completely, then apply your enamel paint evenly.
Top tip: Don’t feel like sanding? Use chalk paint instead. It may be a bit more expensive than enamel but you won’t have to prep your dresser before painting.
A time for sowing
Take your boring old terracotta pot to the next level.
What you need:
A plain pot
Paint – colours of your choice
Paintbrush
Tape
Directions
Give the pot a base of coat of your desired colour and wait to dry. Once dry use your tape to create a straight line and use an accent colour on the lower half of the pot. Thereafter you can use a different colour and paint a smiley face, or any design of your choice onto your pot.
Top tip: Make sure to use a terracotta or stone pot as the paint will not apply evenly onto plastic.
