Easy at home nail ideas

Since I won't be getting my digits polished professionally anytime soon, I thought I’d take things into my own hands and round-up some super fun and easy, DIY manicure ideas to do at home.

PS – You’d be amazed at what you can create with some nail polishes and a toothpick!

Feeling dotty

To achieve this look simply apply a nude polish to your nails. Once that’s dry, dip a toothpick into a different colour – we’re personally partial to a bold metallic like gold or copper – and dot it onto your nails to create the polka dot pattern. Finish it off with a clear top coat and voila!

Free bird

All you need to recreate this stunning nail art is a few shades of blue nail varnish, black nail varnish and a toothpick. Paint each nail a different shade of blue, then on your ring finger draw the shape of birds using a toothpick and black nail polish.

Abstract is the new black

Feeling a little frustrated by being holed up at home with your family? Take out your anxieties on your nails by creating an abstract artwork. Gather as many colours as you have (although, we would recommend choosing shades that look good together) and then paint different shapes and designs onto your nails in whatever way you think looks good – it’s abstract so there really are no rules here!

All that glitters

A little bit of glitter fixes everything, right? Start by painting your nails your desired colour and letting them dry completely. Once that’s done use a bit of Sellotape to cover your nails leaving only the tips exposed, so that you can apply the glitter polish to achieve this glitter French mani effect. Alternatively, you can use a clear coat of polish and then dip your fingers into glitter if you don’t have glitter polish.
